A Sewing Studio in the Making: A Work in Progress!

This isn't my Sewing Studio, but I wish it was

Ever since I became a serious seamstress and quilter, I've dreamed about having a sewing studio space where I could lay out my work and have my equipment set up all the time. Since, for some unexplainable reason, my family wasn't willing to part with the dining room table, I settled for setting up and taking down my equipment after each project or used a small folding table in my room. Which  can be a huge headache when you're working on a huge quilt project or trying to costume an entire theater group. But now, we've come up with a great idea which will finally give my mom and me our own sewing studio!
{Warning there are no pretty pictures beyond this point!}

A Summer of Sewing Projects: Update 1

Summer is finally, official here! Things have been a little crazy with everything that's going on. Between a whole slew of birthdays, activities and projects that just need to get done, I've been going a little bit slower on my sewing projects than I had originally planned. Not to mention the fact that the weather has just been too nice to stay inside.

4 Easy Steps to Finishing Your Summer Reading List

Ah, Summer is officially here. It's the season to enjoy long days, nice weather and numerous activities. If you're anything like me, you may have a pile of books that's just waiting to be read. For the longest time I would devour books as fast as I could get my hands on them. It wasn't uncommon for me to read a couple of books in a week over the summer. Then something changed. When I started school I suddenly didn't have time to do any "pleasure" reading. Now that I'm finished school I'm trying to get back into the groove of regular reading to try and get my summer reading list completed this year. Here are a few steps that I'm using to get back into the habit of reading again.

Why I Left a "Real" Job for Something Unconventional

I resigned from a perfectly respectable job, with decent pay to work a job with very little certainty and I know I made the right choice. While I was still in the final throws of finishing school I landed a job as a "Jewelry and Beauty Specialist," (which I find tremendously funny because I know virtually nothing about either.) Long story short, I took the job because I needed the money.... A few months into it though I knew that I wouldn't be satisfied staying there very long. So after a lot of thought and prayer I decided to go out on a limb to do something radically different.

Hello Summer.... Almost

I've been a bit absent in the blogging world over the past week because I've been busy working on a whole slew of summer related projects, even though it isn't technically summer yet. In between theater classes, studio painting, working on some sewing orders and just enjoying the sunshine and beautiful weather, I'm finally squeezing in some time to catch up here on the blog.

Because Every Garden Needs a Bunny to Visit

This week has been just a little on the crazy side, with garden planting basement cleaning and teaching classes. This is just mostly a quick post to let the world know that I haven't forgotten my blog... again. And I'll be back to some more regular posts later this week. In the mean time, who doesn't love cute rabbit pictures?
