#BecomingMolly - Part 3 - "These are the People in My Neighborhood"

Poppies in the recreation of the garden that would have been across the street from the Shapiro house in 1919
The unique thing about the museum I work for is that it's a portrait of a neighborhood from the l600's right up through the 1950's. It's exploring how life changed within a single small community over the course of three centuries.

This wasn't my originally planned "next post," but I realized that this post would be my 400th since I started blogging here. Soooooo exciting, right? Well here is a poppy for no specific purpose. Happy 400!

First Real Hike of the Summer

I honestly have no idea where the last few weeks went. It's been crazy, but in the best imaginable way. I'm really enjoying my work at the museum. It's the most unique experience I've ever had working anywhere. The past month and a half has completely flown by.

Thankfully I've had some time to do things outside of work. Like hiking.

#becomingMolly - Part 2 - Abroad in 1919

I'm a dorky history lover. Yes, I love poring over old books trying to find out the details of past events. Working at the museum has given me a great opportunity to spend ample time researching d hone in on the information that I need to know to do my job correctly.

Last Week in iPhone Pictures

Hey, I'm back. It's been a crazy couple of weeks. I've plunged head long into my museum job. So far I'm loving it because I get to hang out in amazing old houses and talk about history.

Just from the sheer volume of the amount of reading and studying that I've been putting in to prepare myself, I haven't had the time to sit down and write about what I've been doing. Of course, I haven't actually been able to take my camera to work, but I have been able to use my phone (not, my favorite method of photography) to get a few shots before opening.
